Explanation fo the Restrict for Admin only and Hidden Status options

The ‘Restrict for Admin only’ is actually important as it controls which items can be seen via the User login. If ‘Restrict for Admin’ = Yes then the item cannot be accessed by the User, even in search results:

• Every search through the CollectionOD automatically detects if Amin or User is searching:
  
  • If Admin searches then all results are displayed.
    
  • If User searches then all results are displayed except for items with ‘Restrict for Admin’ = Yes.
    

Public website

• The ‘Restrict for Admin’ doesn’t control what appears on the public website – the ‘Hidden’ option is used for this.
  

Important - a summary

• ‘Restrict for Admin’ means Admin can block what the User sees.
  
• A User can see ‘Hidden’ items.
  
• ‘Hidden’ items will not appear on the public website.
  
• ‘Restrict for Admin’ items can appear on the public website.
